"ISSOIRE" sheppards knife : Discover the Laguiole ancestor with its old fashionned "bee" !
Size and weight : 11.5 cm folded, 21 cm open, approx 110 grams.
Handle :1st choice patterned boxwood burl (not the classical boxwood from the branch) , 5 mm slabs , hand decorated with stainless pins diam 0.8 mm (as it was done for ancient Laguiole knives)
Blade : 440A Stainless steel , 3 mm thick . Hardness : 54 Hrc.
Spike, Plates & bolsters: made from solid stainless steel .The spike was formerly used by sheppards for sheeps cholics.
Spring & Mechanism : Fully forged, with a "fly - bee" basic system (see picture from the top). Chased, inside polished, made from Stainless steel. This strong sheppard's knife replica goes with its traditional mechanism : the knife has no bladestop, therefore it must be folded gently with both hands.
Included : simple leather pouch.
