Handle: Real pre-ban ivory . The whole handle is chased in the "Pidgeon's wing" shape. It is a replica of the XIX century traditionnal model who was most of the time made from real ivory.
Blade : Swedish Stainless 12c27 Sandvik steel, 3 mm thick . Hardness : 56Hrc. We also offer a 60Hrc hardenned special RWL34 swedish powder stainless steel for those who love knives with a longer sharp edge.
Spring : The spring is made from a 3mm thick stainless steel Z20c13. A solid bladestop is provided on all of our springs : that shall keep a long time the edge of the blade. The traditionnal bee is solid, and forged into the spring. The whole spring & bee are then hand chased with a file. This denotes artisan quality, unlike inexpensive mass market products that have welded springs and are machine decorated. These details create a unique Laguiole knife, making each knife one of a kind.
Plates & bolsters : 1,2 mm thick stainless steel with 2 solid bolsters. You can also choose brass (see options) at the same price
Assembling : traditional, hand made silvernickel rivets.
