Handle: Real fossilized mammoth ivory. Aspect and colors can be diffferent from the model shown.
Blade : Swedish Sandvik 12c27 Stainless steel,120 layers, 3 mm thick . Hardness : 56 Hrc. We also offer a 60Hrc hardenned special RWL34 swedish powder stainless steel for those who love knives with a longer sharp edge.
Spring : The spring is made from a 3mm thick stainless steel Z20c13. A solid bladestop is provided on all of our springs : that shall keep a long time the edge of the blade. The traditionnal bee is solid, and forged into the spring. The whole spring & bee are then hand chased with a file. This denotes artisan quality, unlike inexpensive mass market products that have welded springs and are machine decorated. These details create a unique Laguiole knife, making each knife one of a kind.
Plates & bolsters : Vineyard bolster, made from real Sterling solid 800/1000 silver foundry on 1,2 mm thick stainless steel
Corkscrew : 5 rings worm , 8 mm diam, hardenned and polished stainless steel . Made in Thiers- France. We proudly say that our corkscrew knives are easy to open & and can definitly open any kind of nice wine :-)
Assembling : traditional, hand made silvernickel rivets.
